Garment workers in Cambodia need your urgent support. In recent years Cambodia’s food, housing and energy prices have increased rapidly, while wages have stayed low, meaning that workers are now facing real poverty. In 2011 alone over 2,400 workers fainted due to poor diet and overwork, and were taken to hospital in 25 separate incidences. This is largely linked to workers simply not being able to afford a decent diet and working long hours to make extra pay.
You can send the following message to H&M, Gap, Levis, and Zara to tell them to act now as a matter of urgency. The message text below reflects Cambodian unions and workers’ rights groups’ demands to government and brands. Your support can help them to bring about speedy change for workers who really need it.
